At SOZY, we are all about building a better world for all and being part of a global movement for good. We recognize that business ethics need to change and that it's time for all of us to become a force for good and to do our bit to leave a positive impact.
We are so excited to be B Corp Certified and to be on this path of holding ourselves to the highest standards when it comes to public transparency and legal accountability.
Being B Corp Certified helps us to redefine success in business so it doesn't become about a rush to the top.
Instead, it is a mindful, careful, and purpose-heavy journey that helps us to build and become a business that balances people, profit, and the planet in a way that is authentic and stays true to our values rather than being performative.
What does it mean to be B Corp certified?
To be a benefit corporation certified business means we are legally required to truly consider the impact of our decisions on workers, suppliers, buyers, and the environment and community at large. Being held accountable and adhering to impact assessment keeps us connected to our original mission.
We want to use our company to contribute to a positive culture shift and to continually strive for best practices and to do good. We are total advocates of the message B the good you want to see in the world and as a certified B Corporation business, that keeps us showing up every single day.
At SOZY, we always want to do what is best for the world.
As part of our business ethics and values, we dedicate a percentage of our earnings to social and environmental causes and are proud to work with RAINN (the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence network), along with being partners with 1 Percent for the Planet and One Tree Planted.
But our work doesn't stop there.
As a certified B Corps business, we are held to the highest standards and officially verified by B labs to make sure that we continue to meet a responsible value system that puts social, economic, and environmental standards first and commits to clear public transparency.
What are some other companies that are B Corp Certified?
As a Benefit Corporation, SOZY joins over three thousand companies out there across 150 different industries and over 50 countries. We are so proud to be part of a growing positive network with both big and small names in responsible business. We join the likes of Patagonia, Tony's Chocaloney, Ben & Jerry's, WeTransfer, Kickstarter, Natura, Aesop, and a whole heap more. We love that together we are working towards a shared goal - that our services, products, practices, and profits should aspire to benefit all and do no harm. We all share this world and we all have a commitment to each other and to future generations.
What are B Corp requirements?
To be awarded a B Corp Certification, businesses need to pass a B impact assessment and they need to earn at least a score of 80 out of 200. To ensure that certified B Corporations keep up the good work, we also have to pass that certification process every three years to keep on the right track and make sure we continue striving to do good for our community and the environment.
So how do you get to be a business that is certified B Corp? In a nutshell, you need to be purpose-driven and use your business as a force for good. So how are we doing? At SOZY we are proud to be a company looking to carve out positive change. We are USA made so we can better ensure fair trade conditions for all workers, we partner with social and environmental causes to make sure we balance people and the planet with profit, and we continually tweak our business model to make sure we grow our giving as we grow as a business.
We are working hard but we know that there is always room for improvement and always an aim to do more. This keeps us from resting on our laurels and makes sure that we show up for our communities and each other every single day. We are continually committing to becoming carbon neutral, creating a lasting and meaningful change, partnering with companies that share our vision to be a positive influence, and being an inspiration for other businesses across the fashion industries who also want to be part of an everlasting change.
