There’s something so fun about fresh new things to play with in our kitchen - and bonus points if we can let our inner craft goddess out to make them! You don't need any fancy tools or an art degree to try these make-at-home additions to kick up your kitchen.
Potato Stamp Apron
There's nothing like a cute apron to inspire you to get creative in the kitchen. This DIY apron is made by stamping potatoes - and I promise it's super easy.
Supplies:
- Cloth Apron (find at your local craft store)
- Paint (acrylic is perfect)
- Permanent Marker
- Potatoes
Cut your potatoes in half. Spread paint onto the cut part of your potatoes and stamp onto apron. Choose a different color for each potato stamp and create any design you can dream up. Try different colored clouds, fruits and veggies, characters, or whatever you see in your potato shapes. Let dry and use your permanent marker to add the finishing touches or embellishments on your designs.
Custom Reusable Water Bottle
Supplies:
- Reusable Water Bottle (recycle from juice, pasta sauce or kombucha bottles, no need to buy!)
- Colored scraps of paper or magazine cut outs
- Scissors
- Dishwasher safe Mod Podge
- Paintbrush
Cut out shapes from your colored scraps of paper (hearts, triangles, pineapples), magazines or wrapping paper. Apply Mod Podge all over your clean water bottle, then add your cut-outs in a fun design, topping each piece with more Mod Podge. Add a final layer of Mod Podge over top to seal in your creation. The dishwasher safe Mod Podge will make it super easy to clean and take your new, customized water bottle everywhere you go!
You can potato stamp your lackluster napkins or dish rags as well, and use the Mod Podge on your basic glasses to create a colorful new set. The sky's the limit when you see how easy it is to get crafty in your kitchen - have fun with it, craft goddess!
